19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging season, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's first championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after that period of that year.

Success also means he has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, supported by an improved service.

The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.

Both players traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.

The opponent defended 4 initial break points in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
